Gelatin silver fiber photographs can last more than a hundred years.
With proper care, your photographs can be protected from premature aging and fading.
They are works on paper and subject to damage from light, heat, humidity, pests and acidic environments.

MAKE SURE TO FRAME YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS CORRECTLY WITH AN ACID-FREE MATT.
A matt prevents the photograph from pressing up against glass which can cause damage over time.

HANG OR PLACE YOUR FRAMED PHOTOGRAPHS OUT OF DIRECT SUNLIGHT.
TRY TO AVOID PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO STRONG INDIRECT LIGHT.

Ultra-violet light can cause photochemical changes, as well as fading, to your photographs.

DO NOT HANG YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS ABOVE A FIREPLACE, HEATER OR AIR CONDITIONER.

The rapid change in temperature and humidity will accelerate the aging process.

STORE YOUR PHOTO ALBUM OUT OF DIRECT LIGHT, PREFERABLY IN A DARK AND DRY PLACE.

Temperature or humidity extremes, such as in a basement, attic, or garage, will damage your photographs.
Cool or cold temperatures are best. The surface of a gelatin silver photograph contains a protein, and is susceptible
to mold. Keep your album in a box or bag to protect it from light and moisture, and from chemicals, fumes and
pests which are also hazards to your sensitive photographs.

PROTECT AND ENJOY YOUR PHOTOGRAPHS!

Take care of your photographs and they will be around to bring back those precious memories.
