ABOUT PORTRAIT SESSIONS
My service has its roots in the professional portrait photography of the 1890s, when women photographers began to go to the homes of their clients. This home portraiture allowed sitters to be photographed in a more individualized way rather than in the same repetitive studio setting.
By being in my client's own environment - in their home or garden - there is an immediate comfort level. In a relaxed manner, we spend as much time as necessary together. This allows for authentic and natural images. Each commission is unique to the people I photograph.
I combine the best of traditional photography materials and equipment (using black and white film in medium and large format cameras) with a modern approach to capturing intimate portraits and candid life moments.
My prints are hand-printed with longevity in mind. I use fiber-based, gelatin silver paper from Europe to make museum quality prints on an optical enlarger. They are archivally washed and air-dried to last for generations.

SINGLE OR SERIES OF SESSIONS
PORTRAIT SESSION:
Commissioned black & white portrait session with one sitter up to a group of sitters.
TODDLERS TO TEENS:
This series of childhood photo sessions is designed for parents, so that they have a record of their child, or children, from year to year. Photographs can be put in a childhood album over time, and favorites can be matted and framed for display.
WEDDING B&W PORTRAITS:
Couple and/or group portraits before or after the ceremony using a traditional camera and film.
SPECIAL OCCASIONS PORTRAITS:
Sessions can be booked for couple and/or group portraits at special occasions such as an engagement, wedding, anniversary, or family gathering. For a group portrait, I can come with my traditional view camera and go under the black cloth, just like they used to in the old days.
