Effie L Finch married William A. Crew (Billy) after she was pregnant with their daughter, Nora (born 14 January 1914), and then had two sons, Eric (born 5 March 1916) and Gordon (born 1919?).

They lived in London. Bill and Effie separated shortly after Gordon was born. Effie never granted Billy a divorce.Effie worked at the YMCA in Manchester.
After Nora was married with children, Effie lived with her and her sons at Nicolas Road, Chorlton. Nora worked for many years for a furniture shop in Chorlton, Manchester.
Effie died 3rd October 1984.

Jock was born 27 July 1909 and died 5 April 1996.
Nora and Jock separated in 1954.

Eric married his childhood sweetheart, Doreen Hayes (b. Feb 1917 d. 10 May 1997),
who he met when he was fourteen years old.
Eric and Doreen had a son, Michael George Crew (b. 29 Jan 1939 and d. 7 Mar 1971).
Eric and Doreen went to the United States in 1947 and Eric had a job in the British Consulate in New York.
On 9 July 1975, Eric received the M.B.E from the Queen at an informal and private ceremony in New York on the Royal Yacht Britannia. He was vice consult at the British Consulate at the time.
It was for his service in the Royal Artillery and British Intelligence during World War II.
They stayed in the US for 32 years and returned to Great Britain in 1979.
