Hubert Finch Leicester was the tenth and last child of William and Lily. Hubert was born 18th February 1911 in Walthamstow, East London.
Hubert became a sailor in the Royal Navy and served on the Ark Royal. He changed his name to Hubert Leicester-Finch.

Hubert married Elizabeth Caroline Harvey (Stella) on 31st July 1939 at St Mary’s Church, Portsmouth, Hampshire. Stella was very sweet and loving. She was born in Aston, Warwickshire 31st December 1910 to Sidney Frank Harvey and Elizabeth Wilkinson.
Hubert and Stella lived in Southsea and had two children, Elizabeth Ann and John Hubert. Elizabeth was born 24th December 1940 and John 28th May 1945.
Stella passed away on 21 May 1992 in Southsea.
Hubert lived alone in Southsea at his home until he passed on 31 December 2000 (on Stella’s birthday). |
